We ordered from this restaurant last night. We were first and foremost surprised to be told they do not deliver. Who ever heard of a Chinese restaurant that doesn't deliver?? But no matter, we have working legs and reliable transportation, so we went to pick up our order ourselves. The store is small. Like, tiny. There were about four tables in the place. This is not a place that I would choose for dining in. So basically, if you want this place's food, it's carry-out only. The food itself was pretty dang good. We shared the crab rangoons, which were delicious. I had an order of shrimp fried rice. The order was so large I could only finish about half, so I had plenty leftover for another meal. My boyfriend ordered sweet and sour chicken and an order of chicken fried rice. The fried rice he seemed to like just fine. I tried the sweet and sour chicken, and I have to say I was impressed. The chicken was crisp, without being overly dry or crunchy. Overall, I would recommend this place for a late, lazy weeknight when you simply don't want to cook. The food is decent. But if you're looking for an actual dining experience, or you expect to be impressed by the food, go elsewhere.

Hunan chicken and spring rolls. The chicken had awesome flavor and was delicious. The spring rolls I had were the best I've ever had. My favorite chinese place in the Northland.

Great food, great service, and well priced. This is some of the best "fast food" possible. The cashew chicken and the beef and broccoli are especially delicious!

Pleasantly surprised! Ordered 2 dinner combos ($6.75ea): Honey chicken & Szechuan chicken. Dinner combos come with fried rice, 1 crab Rangoon & 1 egg roll. Fried rice: great, bright peas & carrots too Crab Rangoon: perfect amount of sweetness, not a lot of crab Egg roll: good taste, but barely filled & different wrap than the Rangoon. I've had better. Honey chicken: very surprised at the fresh taste & the large chunks of chicken. More chicken to breading! Very fresh & tasted perfect. My 2 kids loved! Szechuan chicken: fantastic non breaded chicken dish w very slight heat. Full of fresh veggies like broccoli, green bell peppers, water chestnuts, thinly sliced onion, celery & bamboo all in a dark broth that is fantastic & fresh. Small amount of inside dining available. Looked like 2 booths & maybe 3 tables w chairs. Very very clean. My go to Chinese is still china star off 64th near parkville, but this new China Express is a close second!

This is my go to spot for Chinese. They are fast if you choose not to order ahead and the food is always good. I always try something different when I get food here and have yet to be disappointed.

Love this place, it's right down the street and we eat there a couple of times a month. We usually order carry-out, but have eaten there also. It's small, but the service is perfect and the food is always hot and yummy!!!!

Absolutely delicious and VERY fast. No delivery, but basically you can call in an order, wait 5-10 minutes, and then leave your house. The food will be waiting for you, or you will wait a very small amount of time.

I just gave a Chinese restaurant 5 stars! I have found my favorite place, y'all! I've been waiting and now my search is over. I can e x h a l e... It's that good. Chinatown Express not only brought back memories of my favorite Chinese place from High School ( it shall remain nameless due to it's severe fall from favor), but it's super cheap and has the best flavor of any I've tried lately. I ordered Shrimp with Garlic Sauce and it was loaded with awesome veggies including these little black squiggly things that are mushroom-esque in taste and nature and I have no idea what they are. We asked once at said "High School Favorite" and the tiny Asian lady told us and said it helps "clean you out". So while I forgot the name, I have never forgotten this little black squiggle's possible detoxing abilities. For 6.75 plus tax you get fried rice, shrimp with garlic sauce packed with bell peppers, onion, water chestnuts, broccoli, and little black squiggles of detox potential. You also get an eggroll and a crab rangoon. The kids got fried rice and chicken lo mein. Hubby got his standard General Tso's Chicken. It was all good. All of it. What more could you want?! Soup. You could want soup. In our hunger, we forgot to order soup. You can make bad decisions when you're famished. Here's another one: We forgot to take pictures. We tore into the sack and scarfed down all the yumminess without one photo. And I call myself Elite! For shame! In my defense, the intoxicating aromas coupled with intense hunger dulled my senses and that's why I didn't take a photo. When you try Chinatown Express you'll understand.

I found it, finally. They opened last month and I've eaten here 2-3 times a week since. The food is outstanding and the service is exceptional. If you like fried rice, try the house fried rice. The meat is great quality, something lacking at most Chinese restaurants. My family and I have tried around a dozen menu items and all of them were fantastic. Try it, you won't be able to eat Chinese anywhere else.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
